A SPECK OF GLEE
All of us live in the same world. The huge ball of dirt, water and air floating in space, surrounded by mysteries  all around spread until light years away. While we try to solve these curiosities existing in space, we completely forget about the millions of mysteries that exist on our very own planet. Be it the existence of new species yet to be discovered at the depths of the Mariana trench, or the working of the Golgi body inside living cells. Or perhaps something as simple as why can't one of your classmates score good in calculus, even when it seems to be as easy as a piece of cake?
When something bad happens to us, we think that this could be the worst day of my entire life and think that it cannot be compared to the day in the life of anyone else. That could be true. Maybe someone else did have a comparatively better day or a day so worse beyond comparison. There's a simultaneous paradox happening at every moment; while one might be grieving in pain other might be celebrating in joy.
The world is like a giant library, filled with books telling us the various stories about everyone's lives; some just on the first page, some half way through and still going, some complete, and some left incomplete right in the middle. There must be many pages in other's books that you still haven't read. It is all about perspective, how you see people.
The girl who is quite all the time, who you 'see' to be living a perfect life, may be fighting a battle within herself.

Anxiety.
This has gotten hold of nearly all of us and is the main cause for the incomplete stories of many. It is sort of a cage that holds us back from doing our best, making us focus on the negatives while completely obstructing the positives. We find it hard to get out of this labyrinth whereas the way out is just a small, easy path.

Memories.
These are the answer. Obviously, no one has memories only made up of pure joy, there is pain too. But they work in a way, that they get better if you decide them to be. Also, the most special thing about these is that you can make them better for yourself and someone else at the very same time. Often, things you do leave a large impact on the lives of others too. And words could be knives or flowers, they could leave scars or surround one with euphoria. But all it really takes to  make it count is just some random acts of kindness.
There must have been many moments when something you must've said or done ,would have had given someone numerous amounts of joy, perhaps have had made what they would've called the day to be 'the worst', be better and left them smiling all along.

'Happiness can be found in the darkest of times only if one remembers to turn on the light'

This is exactly what the quote means.
You don't have to wait for something good to happen to you to make yourself feel better. It could just be the joy, the smile that you could bring upon someone else's face to brighten up your whole day; the fact that someone has a smile because of you, someone feels better because of you.
Life isn't fair at all times, and living up to expectations that it should be, doesn't make it better in any way. It is all up to you and how you decide to live it; how you decide to create memories for yourself and for those around you and have something to remember that'll make others believe in you and most importantly, make you believe in yourself.
You deserve to be remembered, to be loved, to be believed in, to live.
Never forget.
